No Longer Want To Be Just Carol Seiler

Today, someone introduced me as, "This is Carol Seiler.  Not 'The Carol Siler', but 'Just Carol Seiler'.

I was referred to in this way, because there is a lady who works at WEKU, 88.9 and I work at WRFL, 88.1 (both independent radio stations) and we pronounce our names the same way, but our last names are spelled differently.

Someday, I want to be so cool that I'm referred to as 'The Carol Seiler' and NOT 'Just Carol Seiler".

Someday... (Sigh)!!!

Just Tweeted on Twitter

Ah...ha...Twitter!  The infamous social network that has everyone mesmerized and documenting their every personal thought and movement.  I for one thoroughly enjoy the addicting habit of reading the 'tweets' of those I am following and also'tweeting' my own personal thoughts and tribulations.

I have 11 followers...following me on Twitter!  Yeah, 11!  Little ol' me....who would of thunk it?  I'm just a small town girl from Southern Indiana, that's living the dream in Lexington, Kentucky and attending the University of Kentucky.

I'm following 52 Twitter accounts on Twitter.  Five 'twitters' that I follow more closely than my other 'twitters' that I follow are:

1) Jason "Mayhem" Miler
- Miller is a mixed martial arts fighter and you may also know him as the host of "Bully Beatdown" on MTV.  I just love to follow him, because for one he's hilarious and just reading his tweets brings a smile to my face and a chuckle from way deep down in my gut.

2) Joe Rogan
- Rogan tweets about anything and everything...constantly.  I like to follow him, because if there is anything of great significance that I need or should know...I just look at Rogan's tweets.  Also Rogan has his own newspaper publication called, "The Joe Rogan Daily"...so that too keeps informed of what's going on in the world.

3) Pitchfork.com
-All right, so y'all know I am a music person and I radio DJ, so I need to be up on all the new and independent music circulating about in this fine...fine..world of ours and Pitchfork.com keeps me up to date on all of the  new music artists' album releases and who's new and who's hot in underground/independent music.

4) Eli Young Band
- This is my favorite band ever...enough said!!!

5) Coach John Calipari
-Coach John Calipari is the UK Men's Basketball coach and he keeps me informed of everything UK and of course everything UK Men's Basketball!!! :-)

Just Some Birthday Wishes

One week from today is my 22nd birthday.  I have two things I would like to do for my birthday.

1) Dye a pink streak in my hair
2)  Get a tattoo

I'm kind of going through a quarter-life crisis, because of graduating college, personal life stuff and I sorta of feel like I'm over the hill being over 21 now.

A Much Needed PSA That Just Came To My Attention After A Radio Show Phone Call

Please DO NOT construed, confuse or compare the beloved music genre of Americana to Pop Country.  In no way are the two genres the exact same or similar.  They are very much on different ends of the music spectrum.

Americana is heartfelt passionate lyrics that derive so deep from the pit of the human soul from reflections of personal human experience, that in no way could Pop Country ever reach, such an emotional lyrical darkness that seems to be so supposedly conjured.

Pop Country has a connotation  of being associated with the oh, so familiar typical country radio stations that play music out of Nashville.  So, when you compare Pop Country music to Americana, you are going to kind of tick me off and therefore I become very defensive and if I come across as rude or mean, I sincerely apologize, but  when you compare "MY" Reckless Kelly to Rascal Flatts...we are going to be exchanging some fighting words, because that kind of talk is uncalled for.

Get you some music education and learn the difference between Pop Country and Americana.  If you need any further information please get in contact with me, so I can help you out, because it should be a crime to think that Reckless Kelly  is like Rascal Flatts!

It's Just A Direction, I Guess

Well, for this CLD 495 blogpost assignment we are supposed to post maps of three different places.  I decided to share maps of three different places that I plan to visit someday.

The three places I chose are all live music venues in Texas, because some of you may know that I'm absolutely and totally in love with the Texas/Red Dirt music scene.  I even have the The Middle Hour Texas Hour on my radio show, The Crescendo, which airs every Monday from 3-6 AM (EST), on WRFL, 88.1, Lexington.

Someday I'll go out west and meet all my heroes and watch them perform at all the famous live music venues.  And someday I'll go and ride the mechanical bull at Billy Bob's Texas, I'll see Sean McConnell perform at ol' Gruene Hall and I'll watch the Eli Young Band bring down the house at Rockin' Rodeo.

Yeah, someday I'll go...I'd be fool not to go, because "they say the mountains touch the sky.  Far out west of the Great Divide.  And there's fertile fields and valleys down below."
I've never been out west and you may say that it's just a direction and that Texas is just another state.  But to me Texas is so much more and it right now it seems so far away ad I'm getting tired of waiting around for some day!  I know I need to patient during this time and get through college and everything, but I just can't wait till the day I wake up underneath the cornbread moon in Texas!
